The Arkantara school library app keeps books, copies, members, and loans in one system. Librarians scan the member card and the copy's barcode label, while students and parents see loans, due dates, and fines from their own accounts.

What you can do

School library catalog and shelves
Record title, code or ISBN, author, publisher, year, category, and shelf location. Available and borrowed copies are counted automatically.

Barcode book loans
Print Code 128 barcode labels for each copy, then scan the student or staff card and the book label on the loan form. QR labels open the book's page.

Returns, renewals, and fines
The school sets loan length, active loan limit, renewal limit, and daily fine. With the finance module, a student's unpaid fines can be billed as one invoice.

Reservations with a queue
When every copy is out, members reserve the book from the catalog and join a queue. A returned copy is held for the first in line, who gets a notification.

Automatic due-date reminders
Borrowers get a notification the day before a book is due, and a weekly reminder while it is overdue.

Lost or damaged books and reports
Record lost or damaged copies, watch overdue loans on the library dashboard, and export loan history to CSV.
Frequently asked questions
What equipment do barcode loans need?
A printer for book labels and member cards, and a barcode scanner that types the code into the form like a keyboard. Without a scanner, staff can type the copy code and pick the member from a list.
Who can become a library member?
Members are registered from the school's master data, such as students and staff, so nothing is typed twice. Membership can be suspended, and students and parents see loans and fines from their own accounts.
Can students search the catalog themselves?
Yes. Students can browse the catalog and see how many copies are available. Members can reserve a book when every copy is out, within the reservation limit set by the school.
